Making Seagulls
For the Portland Experimental Theater Ensembles “A Seagull”

Commissioned by Jenny Ampersand, in Collaboration with PETE
I felt truly honored to be commissioned by Portland Center Stage to create masks for their latest production. Collaborating with the talented Jenny Ampersand, my previous theater graphics professor, was an incredible experience. She asked me to create a few masks for the production thus that bringing my dreams of publicly showing my art to life. I crafted a unique pattern for the seagull beak, working with an altered toucan pattern for the head. Producing eight masks with vibrant white and yellow beaks was both challenging and rewarding. Witnessing my artistic vision being transformed into a vital component of the performance was a highlight of my career, reaffirming my passion for creating art that resonates and captivates.
